It's looking like I will be blogging about once a month. I just don't know if this hobby is right for me. Maybe once dust settles, it will be a lot more enjoyable. And to be honest, I don't know if anyone really gives a shit about my new adventures. I guess I have to be in the right mood to write something worthwhile and I can cherish these memories for myself. :)
This month was definitely full of adventures.
The first weekend in August, my BFF and I took a trip to Cabo! We stayed at Cabo Azul... an amazing resort that I would love to visit again. Thanks to my good friend Monica, we got a killer deal on our travel package which made it all even more amazing. The sun, the pool, the margaritas, the salsa dancing... it was all just a blast. Our one glitch on the trip was that the lights in the room did pose a challenge until about day three when we finally figured out how to turn them off. Also, we did realize that we really aren't getting any younger. Thanks to one too many margaritas in the sun on day one, we were down for the count at 7pm that first night. Really, the trip ended up being about lounging by the pool and enjoying a good book. I finished "The Four Agreements" which I absolutely loved and would read again and again and again. And then I curled up with my good friend Chelsea Handler. Boy does she make me laugh. Out loud. Literally.
The next weekend I had the priveledge to attend my ex-coworkers wedding! It was just such a treat to see her and her husband so in love! Tiffany was such a beautiful bride! Although at times it did get rough, I had great friends there to pick me up and dance the night away! And let's not forget the open bar! :)
I learned the proper way to taste wine! Although I have always wanted to, I have not had the opportunity to experience a wine tasting. I did however get to go to a wine tasting party! 5 S's are important: 1) Sight 2) Swirl 3) Smell 4) Sip 5) Savor. It was a super fun night with wine, cheese, and chocolate!
I also got to spend an entire day in Corona with the family. It felt really good to make it home. I don't seem to get home too much anymore, but it was such a great day! I had SO much fun with the parentals and I realized that I could not live without them. Yes, they are crazy at times... I have always said my mom's house is a mad house! That has not changed and it probably never will. Mom and I got to have a nice lunch at Ashlee's work and then we met up with Dad later. Corona sure is hot, but I think it will always be home becuase of the fam. :)
Aside from spending every free hour during my weekends at the beach, the only other fun thing that took place this month was Happy Hour with my new co-workers. I don't get to see my team very often because they are all based in LA. It was definitely nice to be able to hang out with them and chat face to face rather than instant message or phone. I am really loving my new job and my new company. Although I did feel sad to no longer be working with youth after hearing that my previous employer just might get the last grant that I wrote. But then again, this new company and new job is going to be lifetime. There are so many career opportunities at my fingertips!
My next purchase needs to be a camera... these blogs aren't as fun without pics. Summer will forever be my favorite time of year but I am looking forward to the crisp air of fall, the smell of cool weather, layers of clothes, and coats. Till next time....
Good luck with the career opportunities :) Can't wait to get together soon!
